John I. Arena

John I. Arena passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 he was 85. Mr. Arena of Blue Bell was a member of the Saint Helena's Church, Blue Bell.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. John was retired from the Philadelphia Electric Co.  as a Machine Operator at the former Barbadoes Island in Norristown. He graduated from the Norristown high school and attended Drexel University. John enjoyed family time, fishing, doing crossword puzzles and antique cars. 
Born on February 22, 1930 in Norristown he was the son of the late John F. and Catherine (DeMarco) Arena. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Anna Marie (Uriani) Arena.
Three daughters Valerie (John) Berry, Carol (Robert) Carr and Christine Arena. Two brothers Joseph and Daniel Arena.  Three grandchildren Joseph, Julia and Padraic. Predeceased by a brother Laurence Arena. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass on Saturday, October 10 at 10:30 AM in St. Helena's church, Blue Bell. Burial St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 930 to 1030 AM at the church. Family  request in lieu flowers memorial contributions can be made in the form of mass cards. Funeral arrangements are by the Volpe Funeral Home.
