Johnnie Dzietror

Our dear Johnnie was born in the city of Lomé, Togo, by the late Mr. George Kwame Dzietror of Ghana, and the late Ms. Adjoa Frederica Acolatse, of Togo. Johnnie was one of fourteen children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother.

Johnnie started his primary school education in Togo, in the mid-1960’s, after which Johnnie and his family relocated to Tema, Ghana, where he continued his primary education at Datus Preparatory School. After primary school, Johnnie went to the Mawuli Boarding School at Ho, in the Volta Region of Ghana, where he finalized his secondary education and received his high-school diploma. Upon completion of high-school, Johnnie went back to Togo, where he attended Université de Lomé. After graduation from the university, Johnnie remained in Togo with his mother until he travelled to the United States of America in 1985.

Johnnie met his fiancé Raluca Olteanu in 2004, while he was working at NY Life.  Johnnie and Raluca spent several great years and shared many precious moments together.  In 2012 they became proud parents of twins – a son, Edem and a daughter, Emma. While Johnniespent many years working as a courier, he spent the last year of his life as a devoted stay-at-home father, taking the utmost care of his children, whom he loved more than anything in this world. Johnnie lived a very healthy life-style, day-in and day-out, and anyone who knew him could testify that he was the biggest fitness fanatic, preaching the importance of living a healthy lifestyle to anyone he met. Johnnie had a heart bigger than life; he always had a good piece of advice to give, and always had a funny story or joke to tell, leaving a big smile on everyone’s face. He was indeed a wonderful soul, loved by all his family and friends.

Johnnie leaves behind to cherish his memories: his fiancé RALUCA, their two children EDEM and EMMA; his brothers, KOFI M. Dzietror, GEORGE K. Dzietror, NICHOLAS Dzietror, LUCAS Dzietror, and FRANK Assah; his sisters, Dziedzom Ayawovi(“JOANITA”) Assah, LEILA Assah, MONICA Otoo (born Dzietror), GEORGIANA Dzietror, GLORIA E.K. Dzietror, and SYLVIA D. Dzietror; and a host of extended family members and friends.
