Joseph Paul Trigona

Joseph Paul Trigona, age 73, died on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville PA. Joe was born in Johnstown PA on January 22, 1943 and was raised by his loving mother, Mary (Jakovic) Trigona.  Joe devoted his life to his mother and his two daughters, Tracey Trigona and Wendy (Trigona) Clemens and over the years he was surrounded and loved by numerous family members and friends. 

Joe graduated from Johnstown High School in 1961, enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and served as a Captain in Vietnam from 1966-1968.  In service, Joe graduated from Airborne School as a Paratrooper and was a member of the Military Assistance Command - Vietnam (MAC-V) unit in Vietnam.  Joe was proud to serve his country and was the recipient of many service-related awards and commendations.  After leaving the military, Joe moved to Philadelphia and worked in Personnel for Gino’s Restaurant for 13 years and continued to work in placement services for the remainder of his career. 

Joe was a dedicated supporter and lover of all animals and wildlife and frequently donated to numerous animal rescue organizations. He was an avid football fan and proudly supported the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions.  His hobbies included gardening and cooking for his daughters, family and friends. 

Joe is survived by his two sisters, Vicki (Trigona) Edwards and Cathy (Trigona) Trew from Nashville TN, in addition to his two daughters, Wendy and Tracey.   He is also “grand-dad” to numerous four-legged children and grandchildren that have undoubtedly greeted him in heaven with tails wagging.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on: Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:00 am
