Karen Rhoads

In the early morning of Thursday September 21, 2017, Karen Geiger Rhoads, 52, passed in her home surrounded by loved ones. Her memorial service will be held at Volpe Funeral Home this Saturday September 30, 2017 707 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown Pa, 19403.

Karen is survived by her two sons Anthony and Nicholas Rhoads, her sisters Jean Geiger, Gretchen Thomes, and Karla Buhler, and her future Daughter in-law Amanda Marks. After a long hard battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Karen will be remembered as brave and courageous for taking on this horrible disease. She graduated from Wisconsin University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Landscape Architecture. After moving to Pennsylvania, she met Anthony F. Rhoads and wed in 1990 and stayed married for the next 15 years. Karen was avid animal lover, raising and rescuing dogs and cats was her true passion. Her dream was to own a farm or large lot of land one day where she could become a foster home for animals. She loved to see her dogs run and play. She was always happy to come home to her sons and the spoiled four-legged members that would do anything for belly rubs.

The family would enjoy if any of her friends and/or colleagues to come and pay their respects. In honor of Karen, the family will have a donation box at the services to raise money for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and cancer awareness. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers if you would like to make a donation at the service, it would be greatly appreciated.
