Richard P. Doran Sr. passed away on Saturday October 3, 2015 he was 68. Mr. Doran of Jeffersonville was a retired mechanical engineer and received his degree in engineering from Villanova University as a Professional Mechanical Engineer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served with the first Marine division during the Vietnam War were he received the FMF insignia with the bronze Star. Richard enjoyed scuba diving, robots, yard sales, movies, reading and special time with his family . Richard was a Volunteer for the Literacy Council of Norristown and Spay N Save. Richard was a dedicated animal lover and was especially fond of his cats. He was born on March 17, 1947 in Albany, New York, was the son of William and Violet (Gorton) Doran. He was the the husband of 46 years to Janet (Solenski) Doran. He is also survived by his son Richard P. Doran Jr and his wife Sandra Doran. One daughter Janet W. Doran and her partner Mark Maines. One brother William John Doran and his wife Peggy Doran. Three grandchildren Seth, Gianna and Olivia. Two nephews Travis and Lance and one niece Michelle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday, October 9 at 12 noon at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Rd., East Norriton. Friends may call Friday from 11 to 12 noon at the funeral home.
