He will be lovingly remembered by his six grandchildren, Holly, Stephanie Jimmy Dimitry, Kayla (Branden) Kohler, Nathan (Jenny) Kidd, Samantha (LoriAnn) Kidd, as well as his three great-grandchildren, Aleeah, Nicholas and Kinsley Kidd.

James was born on July 14, 1932, in Endeavor, PA. The family later settled in Elkland, PA. He attended the Elkland school system and in 1950 graduated from Elkland High School.

James honorably served in the US Army, in Korea as ahighly decorated, 1st class Sgt. After being honorably discharged, he returned to his hometown, Elkland, PA, where he had met the love of his life, Mary Tallarida.

James attended and graduated from St, Bonaventure University where he earned a BS in Applied Mathematics. While attending night school at New York University (NYU) he graduated with a Masters degree in Applied Mechanics. He had a very long and distinguished career as an Aeronautical Engineer and later as a Senior Systems Engineer and retiring from Lockheed Martin in 2010.

James and Mary were married on June 16, 1956, Elkland, PA. They lived in Olean, NY; Rockville Center, NY and Smithtown, NY and then finally had settled in East Norriton, PA to raise their children.

James (Jim) had many interests. He loved traveling with his wife Mary. They were able to see and enjoy many countries. James was known by everyone as Mr. D. He was an avid sports fan. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, Notre Dame and the NY Yankees, which he and Steven would watch, but later on would watch the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies with his daughter Dannine and her husband. He loved sports, even if the team might not have been his favorite teams, he enjoyed watching the games with his children.

Mr. D played softball for over 40 years, and especially enjoyed playing with his son, Steve. James in his senior years made sure to attend and watch his grandson, Nathan and granddaughter Sammi play their sports. He made sure to attend any event that involved his grandkids. Whether it was also watching Kaylas school plays and concerts. As well as Hollys, Stephanies or Jimmys softball, soccer or baseball games. He just loved playing and watching all sports. James even played tackle football in the annual Turkey Bowl Games. He played these games with his son Steven and all his friends that James had watched grow up. He loved his crossword puzzles. You could always count on Mr. D to have one in his hand. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was notorious for telling jokes. He was a friend to everyone he met. Family first for James, he would do and give anything and everything for his family.

His memory further lives on with his many cousins, nieces and nephews. James is predeceased by his beautiful wife of 66 years, Mary (Tallarida) Dimitry,. His parents, James, Sr. and Mary (Selestak); and siblings, his twin brother Danny Dimitry, his brothers George Pete and John Pida and his sisters Edith (Pida) Hamilton and Mary (Pida) Fahey.
