Gloria Peschke

Gloria Leone Peschke died in Arlington, VA on March 16, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born April 18, 1930, to Guiseppe Leone and Giovannina Capacchietti Leone, she lived in Philadelphia and Norristown, Pennsylvania; Springfield and Arlington, Virginia. Gloria was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by one brother, Francis Leone (Theresa Jones Leone), two daughters, Lorraine Peschke and Deborah Peschke Elmo Lipschutz (Jay Lipschutz), son Peter Peschke (John Gelis), grandchild Stephanie Elmo Wingfield (Joshua Wingfield) and many nieces and nephews. To those who knew her best, she will always be remembered as a kind and giving soul who loved children. She was enthusiastic about life, a loving mother and grandmother, supremely generous, and a loyal friend who never gave up on anyone. She delighted in caring for others. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, playing cards, and she loved to dance. She crocheted many gifts for the ones she loved. She was always the life of the party. Gloria worked at the Blue Bell Elementary school library for 25 years and loved the countless students she came to know and touched their hearts with so much love.    Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 AM at Epiphany of our lord church, Plymouth Meeting. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UNICEF at www.unicefusa.org.
