August 12,1943 - May 7,2017
John H. Salerno Son of John and Lucy Salerno passed away suddenly at his home in Skippack, PA. 
He is preceded by his Parents John and Lucy Salerno and his brother Francis Salerno. 
John is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Mary Salerno, son John Salerno, daughter Lucinda Sassaman (Salerno)her fiancé Michael Gradwell and his grandchildren Tyler John Salerno, Robert Sassaman, Renee Salerno, Step Grandchildren Mathew Stead, Michael, Caitlyn and Brianna Gradwell and Nicholas Friel. 
John was a brilliant man who was only limited by his bodies physical disabilities. 
John graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1961. 
He was employed at GE as a Regional Electronic Engineer until his retirement in 1994. 
John enjoyed cars, especially Fast ones, camping with his family and friends at his Mansfield property, hunting and building things in his garage.  Whether he was building a race car or computer he was always creating something and only perfection would do. His 1984 Lamborghini Countach brought him a special kind of joy.  He spent many a day racing and showing his car.  His most prized awards were the people's choice awards.  Especially when he would win them in his hometown of Skippack, PA. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday, May 12 at 5 PM from the Volpe Funeral Home 707 
W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road. Friends may call from 4 to 5 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers Johns family is asking donations be made in his honor at the United Spinal Association, a non profit organization, in hopes of finding a better quality of life for people living with spinal disabilities and disorders.
