Paul Robert Thorsten

Paul Robert Thorsten, a resident of Jeffersonville for more than sixty years, died Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Shannondell, in Audubon, PA.  He was 89.

Born in Renovo, PA on February 9, 1928, he was a son of the late Clarence R. and Lula Grace (Batdorf) Thorsten.

Mr. Thorsten retired from Sears and Roebuck after a long career, and was a longtime member of Masonic Lodge 620 as a 32nd degree Mason.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, who also loved history, books, antiques and classical music.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-four years, Ethelyn “Dee” Marshall Thorsten;   daughters Gail Linberg and husband G. Douglas Linberg of Upper Gwynedd;  Jane Clary and husband Dr. Michael H. Clary of Blacksburg, VA;  son Jan R. Thorsten of Hatfield;  six grandchildren:  G. Douglas and wife Amy Linberg;  Stephen P. Linberg;  Faith M. and Paul Travis Clary;  Christopher R.  and Sean P. Thorsten;  great-grandson Aiden T. Linberg.

He was preceded in death by his sister Barbara J. Thorsten in 1990, and brother Neal H. Thorsten in 2013.

A private family memorial service will be held in VA.
