Raymond D. Fields, of Blue Bell, PA passed away on March 20th, 2018. Ray was born in Lebanon, PA and was graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School in 1968. He received a BA in political science from West Chester University, Class of 1972, where he was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He also received an MS in Counseling from WCU in 1976. He went on to earn his Doctoral Degree in Human Development from Bryn Mawr College in 1990. Ray was employed by the West Chester Area School District from 1977-2009 as a counselor and psychologist on the elementary, middle and high school levels. An avid musician, Ray played tuba for the Main Line Symphony Orchestra for over 30 years and bass in the Big Band from the Valley and Open Road Country Band. Ray enjoyed traveling the world and he visited all 50 states and 31 countries with his family.
Raymond, the son of the late Ray A. and Mary Fields (nee Arnold), is survived by his wife, Ruth (nee Linton), and daughter, Karen, of Souderton PA, as well as siblings: Constance Karli of New Cumberland, PA, Henry Fields of Cornwall, PA, Thomas Fields of Lebanon, PA, Mary Weaver of Evanston, IL, Cynthia Fields of Chestertown, MD, Stephanie Witmer of Coatesville, PA, Stephen Fields of Palmyra, PA, and Patricia Schlegel of Palmyra, PA.
Ray's kind spirit, sense of humor, appreciation of the arts and sciences and thirst for knowledge, will be remembered and carried on by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28th at Honickman Auditorium, Germantown Academy 340 Morris Rd, Fort Washington, PA 19034
