Wanda Barbara Kurowski (nee Ponczka) passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. She was 92.
Mrs. Kurowski of Plymouth Meeting was predeceased in 2013 by her loving husband of 64 years, Michael J. Kurowski, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a fashionista, hostess extraordinaire, theatre lover, and a warm and loving woman. Wanda was born in Philadelphia on September 11, 1926, the daughter of the late George and Mary Ponczka who lived at 1763 Juniata Street. She attended St. Ladislaus school and church, and later, Little Flower High School. When she and Mike and their 3 boys moved to Norristown in 1956 (where their daughters were born), she became a devout member of Holy Saviour Church and was active in the Mother’s Club and Ladies Guild.
She is survived by her sons Richard, Robert, and Ron Kurowski, and daughters Michelle Gregory and Susan Kurowski.
She was blessed with 9 wonderful grandchildren Alex, Sean, Lynn, Amy, Megan, Sarah, Laura, Elizabeth, and Emma Rose, and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her grandson Howard J. Gregory III, son-in-law Howard J. Gregory Jr., daughters-in-law Lyndall and Sachi Kurowski, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial mass on Monday, September 9, at 10 AM at Holy Saviour Church, Norristown. Family will receive relatives and friends before the mass from 9:00 to 9:50 AM Monday at the church.
Burial will be private.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
