Annabelle Malone Obituary

Annabelle (Abby) Lee Heffley Malone, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and love for her family.

Abby was born on February 15, 1942, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to Hilda and William Heffley. She grew up alongside her sisters Lorraine Guida (deceased), Nancy (Kent) Reinert, and Marie (Mike) Blair.

During her teenage years, Abby spent her summers with her lifelong friend Marian Miller Accles and became the "adoptive" daughter of Walter and Mrylie Miller, relationships she cherished throughout her life.

A member of the first graduating class of Conrad Weiser High School in Robesonia, Pennsylvania, Abby continued her education at East Stroudsburg University, graduating in 1964, a milestone later shared by her grandson Matthew.

Abby proudly served her country as a physical therapist in the United States Army from 1963 to 1970, ultimately retiring as the rank of Captain. She especially cherished her time stationed in Hawaii. It was during her service at Valley Forge Military Hospital that she met her husband, Frank, as they worked together caring for amputee patients.

Abby and Frank married in 1970 and built a beautiful family of five children. She was a devoted mother to Francis (Margaret), Michael (Sue), Richard (Nancy), Robert, and Katherine (Jeff). She was preceded in death by sons Francis, Michael, and Robert, and daughters-in-law Janice, Sue and Nancy.

Abby was a proud and loving grandmother to Michael (Kathleen), Christopher (Tarah), Sean (Jenn), Collin (Marissa), Patrick, Matthew and Ryan. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. Abby was survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

Abby embraced life fully through her many passions and interests, including being a private pilot, golfing, billiards, and skeet shooting. She spent many happy years living in Cape May, New Jersey, and nearly twenty years in Punta Gorda, Florida, where she especially thrived and built lasting friendships.

Over the years, Abby and Frank shared many traveling adventures together, visiting Alaska, Egypt, London, Ireland, India, and many of the Caribbean islands, creating memories that reflected their shared love of exploration and life.

In her later years, Abby found a wonderful community at Shannondell and was lovingly cared for by her devoted caretaker, Minerva, during the last three years of her life. Her husband Frank was especially caring and loving throughout their fifty-five years of marriage.

Abby will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her dedication to family, and her compassionate care for others. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
