Catherine Romano, age 73, of Norristown and, most recently, Audubon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
Born in Norristown on August 26, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Elizabeth (Smith) Hurrell. Catherine was the beloved wife of Michael D. Romano and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Catherine dedicated many years of service as a Bakery Manager at Corropolese Bakery in Norristown, where she was known for her warm personality and work ethic. Outside of work, she cherished time spent reading, watching HGTV, shopping, visiting the beach with her family, and being with her grandchildren. She was very fashionable and loved clothing and accessories. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly dogs.
She is survived by her devoted son, James W. Law; two loving daughters, Marcia M. Corropolese and her husband Joseph, and Katie J. McGrier and her husband Jerry; her brother, Bradford Hurrell; and sister, Elizabeth Haas. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Amanda, Jessica, Nicholas, Harper, and Hudson, and great-grandmother to Charlie. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Georgi.
Catherine was predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Daniel, and sisters, Patricia and Sally.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, July 21, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W. Germantown Pikeat Whitehall Road, East Norriton. A prayer service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Catherine’s name to your local SPCA, ACTS, or the Spina Bifida Association.
