Charles J. Longo, age 92, of Norristown, PA, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 11, 1932, in Norristown, he was the beloved son of the late Salvatore and Angelina (Frangiosa) Longo.
Charles served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Charles was an avid hunter, fisher, and trapper. And he had a love for golfing and bowling. He was a lifetime member of the Mount Carmel Club and Hunt Club. Most of his longtime friends knew him as “Hurky”.
A devoted father and grandfather, Charles is survived by his cherished daughters Melissa Cutrone and Charlene Bitting. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Jayne (Fleming) Longo, as well as his daughter Angelina Longo, brothers Anthony, Salvatore, and Robert, and his sister Agnes Criscuolo.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, July 3, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at the Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM, officiated by Monsignor Sangermano of Holy Saviour Parish. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
