Daniel J. DiRado, a retired USPS letter carrier, passed away on July 20, 2022. He was 90.
Mr. DiRado, of Worcester, was a 1950 graduate of the former Saint Patrick's High school in Norristown.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Swedesburg.
Mr. DiRado was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
He played semi-pro football in the Pop Warner league and Irontown AC.
He was also a part-time driver for Auto Craft Automotive Products in Norristown.
Daniel was born on June 27, 1932 in Norristown, and was the son of the late Nicholas and Veneranda "Anna" (Romanelli) DiRado.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 61 years, married on July 22, 1961 to Carol (Michalski) DiRado.
Daughter Debra Ann DiRado. Grandchildren, Rachel Higgins (Kevin), Eric DiRado Harte, Justin DiRado Harte, Alysia DiRado Harte, Daniel DiRado Mahoney, Veneranda (Annie) DiRado Mahoney, Dominic DiRado, Scott Laughlin Jr., John Laughlin and Faith DiRado.
Five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Brother Joseph (Annette) DiRado.
Preceding him in death were his sisters Elizabeth DeCerio and RoseAnn (Miller) Winant, and brother, Alfred.
Daniel's viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 26 from 6 to 8 PM at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road and on Wednesday July 27 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM followed by a funeral mass at 11 AM in the Sacred Heart Church Swedesburg. Burial St Patrick cemetery.
Family request memorial contributions can be made in the form of mass cards.
