Daniel Patrick Friend, or Big Dan as he was known to many, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
A lifelong resident of Norristown, Dan was a car enthusiast, working on and selling cars since the age of 13. He was always willing to help people if they had a car problem of any kind or go to a car show.
He enjoyed his music and spent many nights in the 90s singing karaoke. Dan loved a good meal and sometimes even a bad one, and always had a "dad joke" to share with anyone who would listen. Over the last few years Dan had become sort of a "gym rat".
He was there faithfully and knew everyone by name and was trying his best to bring back arm wrestling with anyone he thought would accept the challenge.
Dan was stubborn and set in his own ways, but he loved hard.
