Daniel J Reilly Sr

Daniel J. Reilly Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026. He was 81 years old.

A longtime resident of Royersford, Mr. Reilly retired from PennDOT after many years of dedicated service as an equipment operator.
Daniel was an avid outdoorsman and a passionate fisherman. He was a proud member of Stony Creek Anglers, Great Swamp Fish and Game, and the Souderton-Harleysville Game, Fish and Forestry Association. He also enjoyed following college football, cheering on his favorite teams, Penn State and Notre Dame. On Friday Nights in the Fall you could find him at Spring-Ford High School cheering on the High School Football team and marching band. He enjoyed watching baseball and was a devoted fan of marching bands and Drum and Bugle Corps.

He was a Lionel train enthusiast; he created his own train platforms and would sit for hours teaching his grandchildren how to operate them. Dan loved taking rides to Lancaster to get strawberries and peaches. He enjoyed spending hours with his family driving through the windy roads, always looking for ponds and ice cream parlors. Dan loved to talk and had a story for everything and everybody.

   
Born in Norristown on June 7, 1945, Daniel was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Smith) Reilly.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Shrader) Reilly; his brother Joseph (Linda) Reilly; his daughter, Carol Reilly-Strickland and her husband, Floyd; his daughter-in-law, Camille Reilly; his cherished grandchildren, Moranda, Marissa, Hannah, and Jacob as well as his great-grandchildren, Madison, Mikayla, and Morgan.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Daniel J. Reilly, Jr. Along with his family and many friends, he leaves behind a lifetime of fond memories. If anyone asks why he's missin' just 
tell 'em that he's gone fishin'.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday evening from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., followed by family and friend reflections, at the Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road, East Norriton. Interment will be private at a later date.
