David M. DeLuca
April 23, 1953 - August 27, 2023
David M. DeLuca, 70, of Norristown, PA passed away peacefully on August 27, 2023 at Suburban Hospital of complications from Melanoma.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; Charles DeLuca and Margaret Taglioli DeLuca and brother in law, Don Adams. Dave graduated from Norristown High School in 1971. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Leslie (Watson) DeLuca, his brother Chuck DeLuca (Mag), sister Nancy Adams (Don), brother and sister in law; Bruce and Lynne (Watson) Dore, beloved cats; Wilkes and Waldo, and many nieces and nephews.
Dave’s early years were filled with music, adventure, and riding as a jockey. He met his wife, Leslie, at Temple University’s folk dancing class and they forged a lifetime love of folk dancing, rescuing cats, and a devoted commitment to the Philadelphia Folk Festival and their family.
Dave will forever be known for his love of music, his stories of the wild 70s and the train people on his Septa ride to work in Philadelphia, their annual tree trimming party, Philadelphia Folk Fest, summers in Maine and down the shore, tinkering with computers, community at Friends meeting, directing his nephews in the creation of his family’s famous pasta, and his love of tie dye and a good and passionate debate.
