David Perlman Obituary

David Perlman of Harleysville, PA passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

David was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 23, 1955, and was raised in Woodmere, NY on Long Island. He was the son of the late Seymour and Leona (Newman) Perlman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Annmarie (Ragonese) Perlman; his children Jaclyn (Reid) Smith, Lauren (Jonathan) Thomas, and Calvin (Samantha) Perlman; his cherished grandchildren Reid Jr., Addison, Anna Belle, Ethan, Josephine, Quinn, Sebastian, Dawson, and Maura; his sisters Tina (Robert) Cooper and Angela “Zizzy” (Gary) Trepiccione; a brother; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry his love and legacy forward each and every day.

David’s early life and upbringing helped shape the man he became—a foundation of hard work, determination, resilience, and deep family values that remained with him throughout his life. To know him was to know kindness, steady guidance, and a heart that was always looking for ways to love, nurture, and give back. His greatest joy in life was his family—his wife, children, and grandchildren—who were the center of everything he built and everything he believed in.

A true entrepreneur at heart, David had a remarkable ability to see possibilities where others saw none. He began his business career by owning his own auto parts and remanufacturing business in New York and Philadelphia. Later, he transitioned into building and real estate development, becoming a respected leader in the industry and serving as President of the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia.

His final and most meaningful project, Quarry Hill Farm, was a dream he brought to life alongside his family. What began as an opportunity became a shared purpose—one that united generations in something bigger than themselves. Through the farm, David created a mission to give back, donating profits to local charities, shelters, and food banks throughout the Greater Philadelphia Area. He believed deeply in feeding those in need and creating something meaningful his family could continue together for years to come.

No matter the venture, David poured the same love, integrity, work ethic, and pride into everything he touched, leaving behind not only successful businesses, but a lasting impact on the people and communities around him.

Beyond his work, David embraced life fully and found joy in the moments that brought people together. He loved golfing, spending time around the poker table with close friends, boating, and flying his airplane. He was a loyal and passionate supporter of Philadelphia sports teams, and he cherished traveling and making memories with those he loved most. Above all, he treasured time spent with family and friends—the laughter, the stories, and the connection.

David will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind—not only in what he created, but in the lives he touched. His impact will continue to be felt in every act of kindness, every meal shared with those in need, and every moment his family carries forward the work and values he so deeply believed in.

While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his life was one of meaning, love, and purpose—and that the seeds he planted will continue to grow for generations to come.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in David’s memory to organizations dedicated to feeding and supporting those in need, causes that were deeply meaningful to him.
