David George Vitelli passed away on August 12, 2024 at the age of 66. David was a beloved father, brother, and friend whose generosity and big heart touched the lives of many. He was born on December 7, 1957 in Norristown to Rita (Ferroni) and Quinton Vitelli. He is survived by his siblings Quinton (Karen), Susan (Raymond) and Robert (Michele), and children Jamison, Cameron and Jane, and soon to be daughter in-law, Kristen.
He was a graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School and spent many of his early years working at his uncle’s bar, The Ocean Drive in Sea Isle City. He operated The Norristown School of Bartending for several years and also taught bartending classes at Walnut Hill College (previously known as The Restaurant School) in Philadelphia. Dave was a bartender at The Valley Tavern (originally Chumley’s) for 40 years. Dave loved being outdoors doing yard work, landscaping, and hosting parties at his pool. He also loved to read and was a huge Eagles fan. No matter where he was or what he was doing, he would always drop anything to help a friend, family member, or even a stranger. Dave had a heart of gold and will be very missed.
A celebration of life will be held at Valley Forge Casino Resort (1160 1st Ave, King of Prussia, PA 19406) on Tuesday, September 3rd. Please enter through the Stardust Tower to the right of the casino. Visitation will be held in the ballroom from 4 to 5:30 pm, and a service will be from 5:30 to 6 pm.
