Donald J. “Don” Pierce, age 85, of Norristown passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was born in Conshohocken on July 21, 1939, the son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Kroouze) Pierce.
Don was a retired truck driver for Stroehmann Bakeries, and a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a former Boy Scout Leader, and he enjoyed golfing, bowling, nature, hiking, and going to the Jersey shore. He was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St Paul’s Catholic Church and helped with the Sunday church collections.
Don is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Lou (Gaasche) Pierce; three sons, Donald (Donna), David, and Brian (Jenn); two daughters, Patricia (David) Quintrell, and Lynn Desimone(Ray Quintrell predeceased); eight grandchildren, Shauna, Danielle, Matthew, Connor, Amanda, Brandon, Harrison and Nathan; five great grandchildren, PJ, Mariesa, Teressa, Lorenzo and Brooklyn; brother, Gerard Pierce; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Alfred, Joseph, John, Edward, and sister Ann Clayboss.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope St, Norristown PA, followed by his Funeral Mass. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in East Norriton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Don's memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
