Erma D. Maxwell, age 97, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at Jefferson Einstein Hospital. Born in Washington, D.C., on January 2, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ellwood and Joyce (Bartelmas) Dixon.
A devoted homemaker, Erma dedicated her life to caring for her family, a role she cherished deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Quentin Maxwell, who passed in 1987, and her son, Jimmy.
Erma leaves behind a loving legacy in her children: her son Richard (Jean) Maxwell, and her daughters Christine Morris, Janet (William) Rost, Patricia Mungo, and Jacqueline (Kevin) Maxwell-Halpin. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Mary) Dixon, twelve grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her long and full life. She was also pre deceased by two grandchildren.
Erma will be laid to rest beside her husband at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, reunited in eternal peace.
She will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family.
