Ersilia Bruno

We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Ersilia (DiLucia) Bruno on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the age of 84.

Ersilia, who was known as “Nonna” to many, was born to the late Domenico and Albina (D’Ippolito) DiLucia in Sessano del Molise, Italy on February 26, 1939.

She met and married the love of her life Secondo Bruno in 1961 and soon relocated to Norristown, PA . She was a talented seamstress and spent many years working at Thorngate Uniforms Inc. in Norristown, PA,  as well as, Modern Bridal and Nordstrom in King of Prussia, PA.  

Ersilia is survived by her husband Secondo Bruno and two children. Anthony Bruno (and companion Michelle Roeder) of Telford, PA and Christine Bruno Hoffman (and husband Brian Hoffman) of Boynton Beach, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Angela Bruno, Dante Bruno, Tyler Hoffman, Devin Hoffman and Logan Hoffman. She was predeceased by her half brother Amelio DiLucia in Argentina.

Ersilia was a  member of Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Trooper, PA. She was also a member of the Holy Savior Club in Norristown, PA. She loved spending her time with her beloved cat Bella. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, dancing, going to the casino, and listening to Italian music. 

We would love for you to come and honor her life on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Visitation BVM church, located at 196 N.Trooper Road, Eagleville, PA 19403. 
The viewing will be held from 9 to 10 AM followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM.

Burial will be immediately following the mass at St. Matthews Mausoleum, located at 219 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428.

The family requests mass cards in lieu of flowers. 
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
