Frances (Marino) Giamo, 98 years old, from Blue Bell died peacefully in her home on February 17, 2026.
Born February 23, 1927, in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Martino and Maria (Sutera) Marino.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Louis S Giamo, (January 13, 1977) her brothers Joseph, Charles and Anthony Marino as well as her sisters Antoinette Marino Russo and Jennie Marino Viglione. Her sister Betty Ward and her husband Tom reside in Plymouth Whitemarsh.
Frances graduated from Norristown Area High School in 1944. She obtained her undergraduate degree in education at Gwynedd Mercy College and graduated from Villanova University with a Master's Degree in library science. Frances began working at Methacton School District as a first grade teacher at Woodland Elementary School, then became the librarian at Woodland Elementary School before finishing her teaching career as the Methacton High School Llibrarian. She retired with more than 30 years as an educator.
Frances loved reading, bowling, her daily walks, music and singing, crossword puzzles, visits and phone calls from friends, and most of all, spending time with her family.
She was an active member of St. Helena Church for 63 years. She was a devoted Catholic and was blessed to have been able to travel to Rome, Fatima, Medugorje, Oberammergau, Israel, Jerusalem, and many other wonderful destinations with her friends from church.
Frances is survived by her three children: son, Louis Giamo and his wife Cha of Bluebell, PA daughters, Marina Giamo Engel and husband Mark of Laurys Station, PA and Rena Giamo Dicce and husband Peter of Landenberg PA. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Helena Church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM on Monday March 2, 2027 located at 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Patrick's Cemetery.
