Gennaro Raphael D'Aquilante

Gennaro Raphael “Jimmy Doc” D’Aquilante passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 6, 1931 in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gennaro was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War and was later retired from the United State Mint. He met his wife, Mary (Capodici) D’Aquilante in 1955, and were married on April 28, 1956.

Gennaro was an amazing son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid Philadelphia sports and New York Yankees fan. He spent many hours a day listening to his favorite artists, Andrea Bocelli and Frank Sinatra. He also enjoyed vacationing with his wife, spending weekends at the beach with this family, and playing cards with his children and grandchildren.

Gennaro is the son of the late Enrico and Bettina (Sciulli) D’Aquilante and the loving husband of the late Mary (Capodici) D’Aquilante. He is survived by daughters Debra (David) D’Aquilante Brent, Dina (Frank) Manjardi, Denise D’Aquilante Bergen, and son Enrico (Karen) D’Aquilante, three sisters Amelia Schoettle, Carol Pavlovitch, Elizabeth (Tony) Bove, eleven grandchildren Michael, Frankie, Gino, Jenna, Tara, Alyssa, Michael David, Nicole, Gianna, Tamara and Enrico, and two great-grandchildren Aleigha and Francis IV. He is pre-deceased by two sisters Annunciata Mazza and Marie McGinty.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, April 20 from 9 to 10:45 AM, with funeral mass to follow at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Entombment at St. Patrick’s Mausoleum.
