George A. Brittingham passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was 75.
George proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Brittingham, a resident of Blue Bell, was a retired driver for the Tastykake Company and later worked for the Vanguard Group.
He enjoyed following Philadelphia sports, carpentry, and spending special time with his family.
George was born in Philadelphia on April 21, 1950, and was the son of the late Leroy Jr. and Clara (Hollinger) Brittingham.
He was the beloved husband of Maureen (O’Leary) Brittingham for 53 years. George is survived by his children, Edward Brittingham, Andrew Brittingham (Jacqueline), and Karen Sweeney (Tim); his brother Richard Brittingham (Marian); ten grandchildren, Amanda, Edward, Abigail, Madeline, Kaylie, Eric, Andrew, Ryan, Ryan, and Dylan and four great-grandchildren, Declan, Quinn, Theo and Mallory. He was predeceased by his sister, Judith Fischer (Earl), and his brother, Leroy III (Mardie).
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 6, from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W. Germantown Pike and Whitehall Rd., East Norriton, with a prayer service beginning at noon. Burial will take place privately at a later date in the Washington Crossing National Veterans Cemetery.
