George R. "Sonny" Cornog passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 71. He was born in Norristown on May 27,1952 to the late George W. Cornog and Frances Paravati.
Sonny served his country as a veteran of the United States Marines before embarking on a career as a skilled tradesman. Even in retirement, his passion for do-it-yourself repairs and tinkering never ceased and his talents were evident to all who worked with him. His tireless work ethic is a testament to his character and integrity which was interwoven into every aspect of his life.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Sonny, will forever remember his animated antics, playful nature and courageous spirit. Sonny was quite the charming gentleman, a vivid storyteller, an avid movie watcher, and the hardest working man you ever knew.
Adored by his family, he was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Nancy, Teresa, and Kathy and is survived by his brother and best friend, Bobby Cornog, his cherished son, Robert Michael Cornog, and Anthony Vagnoni, who he loved as a son.
Though he may no longer be with us in person, Sonny’s energetic spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him as he leaves behind many cherished memories that will be treasured for years to come, by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during Sonny's viewing on Thursday, February 15, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, followed by a Funeral service at the Volpe Funeral Home, located at 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Rd., East Norriton. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home. volpefh.com.
