Hai Kim Nguyen passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021 at age 62, surrounded by his family.
Hai was born to Nguyen Kim Son and Doan Kim Nhu on September 14, 1958 in Saigon, Vietnam.
Hai met his wife, Huynh Thi Nguyen, in 1981 through Huynh’s brother. They married in 1982 and left everything they knew to escape Vietnam in 1986. They welcomed two beautiful daughters, Vy and Natalie, while living in Pennsylvania. He worked tirelessly for his family with two jobs – UPS and glasswork. His dream was to be his own boss, and he ultimately made that come true when he became a small business owner of Mobile Glass in 1994.
Hai was a devoted husband, father, and his passions were in photography and traveling. He had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed visiting many destinations over his lifetime. Hai loved to pack up the family car and drive to places all over the United States. His favorite photography subject was his wife on their many travels. He had the biggest and best camera in the room, and an even bigger flash. Hai always demanded the best in life and was a strong proponent of higher education. He was very proud of how he raised his daughters to become successful and strong women. He was also a brilliant and intelligent problem-solver, who often engineered many projects in his vehicles and around the house. He will be deeply missed by his family, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 - 12:30 on May 1, at the Volpe Funeral Home in Norristown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the Nguyen family is requesting contributions to the “Sponsors for Educational Opportunity” charity in Hai’s name. Getting higher education was something so important to Hai, and he strongly encouraged his daughters to achieve the highest education possible.
