Helen Nancy (Atkinson) Hamilton, “Nancy” 84, of Plymouth Meeting, sadly passed away
on June 24, 2020.
She was born in Roxborough, PA on December 11, 1935. Nancy was the daughter of the
late David Morton Atkinson Jr. and Helen Elizabeth (Creitz) Atkinson.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 65 years, Richard H. Hamilton Sr.
Her brother, the late David Morton Atkinson III, preceded her in death and she is
survived by her sister, Dr. Susan Atkinson.
Nancy is also survived by her 4 children Nancy Lee Collins, Richard H. Hamilton Jr.,
Suzanne Kennedy and Kimberly Livezey; 5 grandchildren; Meredith (Nguyen), Megan
(Collins), Tyler, Carley, and Austin (Livezey); and 3 great grandchildren; NancyThuy,
Zander and her newest arrival Collins (Nguyen); along with many loving family members
and close friends.
She loved taking pictures of her family “aka: Kodak Karen” and playing solitaire. She
enjoyed spending time with her husband, the love of her life, taking walks around the
block holding hands. She loved going to Avalon and Ocean City, NJ beaches, especially
when the whole family was there. Her favorite pastime was talking about her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took a special interest in each one and
spoke with them frequently. She loved pink roses and homemade cheesecake, and her
favorite takeout was breaded shrimp and ribs from Outback Steakhouse. Yum!
If you were one of the lucky ones and she knew your birthday, you would be serenaded
with a personal phone call or message on your answering machine, with the chorus of
her & Rich Sr. singing Happy Birthday to you. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and
she enjoyed making the most delicious Christmas cookies. Her favorite singer was the
one and only, Elvis Presley “Love me tender!”.
