Ida Angelo

Ida Susan (Bergandino) Angelo passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at Regina Nursing Center, Norristown, Pa., where she resided for the past 9 ½ years.   She was 92 years old.  Ida was a loving wife to the late Louis V. Angelo for 27 years.

Born in Norristown to the late John and Rosa (Branca) Bergandino.  Raised by her father and Stepmother, Mary(Tadeo), in Bridgeport, Pa. Ida was a very quiet and assuming woman and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her daughters,  Gerri Licata Bello (Carmine) and Mary Licata Boccella (Armando)  Grandchildren:  Anthony (Rosa) Boccella, Dominic (Danielle) Boccella and Gina Maria (John) Pyle. Great grandchildren:  Laila and Nino Boccella.  She is also survived by her Stepchildren:  Rosemarie Alba, Judy Allevi, Lou Angelo and Elaine Angelo.  Preceded in death by: Brothers, Frank Tadeo, Vincent, Albert and Anthony Bergandino and Sister, Julia Marchese.  

She worked most of her life sewing uniforms at Jacob Reeds.  Then for Extra-Corporeal and Little Pepi’s where she always went home smelling like pizzelles.  She was known in our family for making the best homemade ravioli which we had on every holiday.  Ida was talented in sewing, cooking, baking, crocheting and many different crafts.  

Diagnosed with Dementia in her late 70’s and even with slowly losing all of her abilities over the years, she never complained and always had a smile for everyone.  We will miss her terribly.

Arrangements will be private due to the Corona Virus through Volpe Funeral Home and she will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Tuesday, April 28th, 2020.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Regina Nursing Center, 550 E. Fornance St., Norristown, Pa 19401.
