Ida (DeFrancesco) Ciarlo

Ida (DeFrancesco) Ciarlo passed away peacefully, surround by her family, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the age of 99. Mrs. Ciarlo, formally of Sandy Hill Rd., Plymouth Township, was retired from the Deluxe Check Printers. She was a member of Holy Saviour Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Sodality. 

She was born in Minersville, Pa on October 6, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Camil and Christine (Pizzico) DeFrancesco. She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Ciarlo.  She was preceded in death by four brothers, Louis, Nicholas, Eddie, Alfonse, and by three sisters, Eva, Isabelle and Tina. 

Surviving her are two sons Anthony David (Shirley) Ciarlo and Denny (Claire) Ciarlo. One brother Camil “Jimmy” DeFrancesco. Six grandchildren Denise (Pat), David (Sandy), Dana (John), Christine (Geof), Andrea and Tony. Six great-grandchildren Sarah, Christian, Angelica, Juliana, Breanna, Matt and two great-great grandchildren, Oliver and Rose. 

She was a beautiful woman who devoted her life to her family. Nothing gave her more joy than being surrounded by her family. Baking, cooking, and music were her passions. No one missed a meal or dessert when they knew Ida was cooking. She will always be remembered for her big heart, generosity, large Italian dinners, lovely voice, and bright smile. She lived her life with faith and deep devotion to the Blessed Mother. Although she will be greatly missed, knowing that she is now in the arms of Christ comforts us. 

A sweeter woman you could never find. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, July 10 at 10 AM in Holy Saviour church. Entombment St. Patrick’s Mausoleum. Her viewing will be held Tuesday from 9 to 10 AM at the church. Family request in Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Projects.org.
