James Joseph Cutts Sr was the youngest child born to the late George and Lucille Cutts, Sr.
James was predeceased by his seven siblings: Elenora Eady, Charles E. Cutts, Sr. George Cutts Jr., Jerome Cutts, Marion Batchelor, Howard Cutts and Donald Cutts.
James was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. After graduation in 1954 from Benjamin Franklin High School, James joined the United States Army. He served as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. He was also stationed for a time in West Germany. Upon being honorably discharged, James returned to Philadelphia where he was employed in the automobile industry. James was such an expert vehicle painter that the customers asked that he service their cars.
James was a spiritual man and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. James was a member of Union Baptist Church and attended regularly until his health failed.
James was sociable and enjoyed dancing and attended live performances.
Since James was "the baby" his brothers would tease him; however, when he realized they were joking, James would tell them to "get out of town".
James leaves to mourn two daughters, Germaine G. Cutts Bryd (Calvin R. Bryd), Theresa Diane Cutts and one son, James Joseph Cutts,Jr., three grandchildren, Frank Jeffrey Cutts, Latessa Shanice Cutts, Marcellus Grant Cutts and one great grandson, Janias Amirez Cutts. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
James Joseph Cutts, Sr. ran the race and kept the faith.
On the morning of December 27, 2020 James went to his heavenly home.
