James R. Dougherty passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2023 suddenly in West Virginia. He was 90. Mr. Dougherty of Plymouth Meeting was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Korean conflict. James was a retired, Draftsman and work in numerous Architectural and Engineering Firms.
James enjoyed golfing, bowling, singing, and spending time with his grandchildren. James was born in Philadelphia on November 13, 1932 and was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (McKnight) Dougherty. He was the husband of the late Regina A. Dougherty. He is survived by his son, Michael Wife Dawn Dougherty and daughter, Karen husband George Knebel.
Eight grandchildren Robert, James, Thresa, Michael, Ryan, Regina, Mark and Kristina. One great grandson, Jonathan.
He was a predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Albert.
Two sisters, Elizabeth and Joan. James's viewing will be held on Wednesday evening August 23 from 6 to 8 PM at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road East Norriton. His funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 24 at 10 AM in St. Paul's RC Church, East Norriton. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Family request memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Saint Jude for children. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe Funeral Home.
