Jay Goldblum Obituary

Jay Goldblum, of Worcester, PA, passed away suddenly  on September 27, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born in Philadelphia, his family moved to Plymouth Township when he was young. He graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, Class of 1979, and went on to become a master of carpentry — a skill that reflected both his craftsmanship and his determination to create and fix anything placed before him.

Jay grew up surrounded by the family business; his parents, the late Earl and Judith Goldblum, owned Estin Hardware in Norristown. Following in their footsteps, he opened and operated Jay’s Hardware in East Norriton, which later became Gold’s Hardware. He was known for his resourcefulness, reliability, trust, and humor, and his customers and friends always remembered his iconic slogan: “If Jay can’t get it, forget it.”

Jay is survived by his longtime girlfriend of more than 15 years, Ann; his son, Jay, and Jay’s partner, Veca; his grandchildren, Grace and Nicholas; and his sister, Faith. He was the beloved son of Earl and Judith Goldblum.

Towards the end of his life, Jay faced health challenges with remarkable courage — losing his leg to diabetes and later beginning dialysis — yet he met these difficulties with determination, resilience, and a sense of humor that never waned.

Those who knew him best remember visiting his home, where Jay was a generous “food pusher,” always insisting his guests eat, especially when it came to sandwiches, snacks, and Turkey Hill Diet iced tea. Meals with Jay were never just about the food; they were about laughter, connection, and the warmth he shared so freely.

Jay’s family extends heartfelt thanks to his many friends — near and far — for the love, kindness, and loyalty you shared with him throughout his life. He will be remembered with deep love and greatly missed by all who knew him.

To honor Jay’s memory, consider making a donation to the National Kidney Foundation.
