John E. Kraus passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025 with family by his side. He was 62 years old.
A resident of Plymouth Meeting, Pa, Mr. Kraus will be remembered for his kind heart, love of family and zest for life. Born in Los Angeles, California, on November 23, 1962, John was the son of the late John J. and Patricia J (Hoffman) Kraus.
John graduated from Kennedy Kenrick High School in 1981 and earned a degree in Hotel and Restaurant management but later found his true calling as a Realtor.
John had a passion for all things fast and classic—he was an NASCAR enthusiast, loved his Philly sports teams, especially his Eagles. His granddaughter learned how to spell E A G L E S before any other word. Those who knew John knew it was Mopar or no car! His rather large collection of cars was a testiment to that. He also loved traveling and visited many countries with family and friends. He especially cherished his time spent at his home in Cape May, NJ where he found peace and happiness.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Donna (Buckwalter-Meadowcroft) Kraus; his loving daughter, Amanda Kraus; and his two beloved granddaughters, Harley Quinn and Sophia Faith. They were the light of his life and Papa, as he was called, always had time to read a book or answer the endless questions only a child can ask.
John was predeceased by his brothers, Christopher and Michael Lee. He had many sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews and his cousins whom he loved.
John was perpetually late or just on time from his perspective, a gene inherited from his late father. He could always find the best deals and pinch a penny to death but was so generous when it came to his family and made sure every trip or outing was fun and no expense was spared to make it a great time. He was a loving husband, father and Papa and his family was his greatest joy. He worked tirelessly to the very end to make sure they would be cared for after he passed.
John was a hard worker, always available to help a friend and honesty was his highest virtue. He lived by the motto God, Family and Country. He was proud of his relationship with God and defended his faith. He was a true patriot and loved his country, defending it to anyone willing to hear him out. He actively participated with politics and made sure his voice was heard.
