Joseph (Joe) J. DiRado, 91, of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Norristown and dedicated many years to serving his community as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service before his retirement. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict as well as spending time stationed in Japan.
Joe loved to cook, and each week made homemade pasta sauce with his wife, a family favorite. He cherished spending time around the table, sharing meals and conversation with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing cards and bowling.
A lifetime member and former President of the Eagles Home Association Social Club in Norristown, Joe treasured the friendships he formed there over the years.
Born on February 21, 1935, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Veneranda Anna (Romanelli) DiRado.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette (Bruni) DiRado; his daughters, Karen DeNardo and Jo Ann DiRado; his son-in-law, Gary DeNardo; and his cherished grandchildren, Gary Jr. and Nicole.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his son, Nicholas DiRado; his brothers, Daniel and Alfred, and his sisters, Elizabeth DeCerio and Roseann Winant.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, May 1, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road, East Norriton. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
