Joseph L. Fritz Jr., 91, of Collegeville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia on August 16, 1933, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph L. Fritz Sr. and Anna (Kohl) Fritz.
He was the devoted husband of the late Helene (White) Fritz and the loving father of the late Kevin Fritz. He is survived by his children: Andrea (Ralph) Battaglia, Dennis (Rebecca) Fritz, and Joseph “Jay” (Linda) Fritz.
Joe was a cherished grandfather to Kevin Jason, Justin, Stephen, Jarrad, Alyssa, Natalie, Matthew, and Mason, and a proud great-grandfather to Kash and Quinn.
A proud veteran of the Korean War, Joe served his country with honor before building a long career as an installer for the former Bell Telephone Company. Known for his steady work ethic and quiet reliability, he carried those same values into his life at home.
A dedicated handyman, Joe took great pride in his home projects and keeping his lawn in pristine condition. He was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Dallas Cowboys, and college football. He especially enjoyed summer days spent in Ocean City with Helene by his side, and nothing meant more to him than time shared with his family.
In addition to his parents, wife, and son Kevin, he was predeceased by his brothers: Henry, Charles, Herbert, and Frederick.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 12, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Road, East Norriton. A memorial service will follow. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Joe’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
