Josephine (Barone) Collins passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
She was 99.
Josephine worked in the family business Baron's Canteen in Norristown for fifty years. After retiring from the family business she continued in the service industry at Comfort Inn preparing the hotel’s continental breakfast 4-5 days a week until age 87.
Josephine was a member of the Catholic War Veterans post 1180, Norristown and Holy Savior Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed playing bingo, baking, and cooking especially when she and her husband Lou could host a family gathering. Family meant everything to her and her values have been passed on to the generations to follow.
Josephine was born in Norristown on August 9, 1924 and was the daughter of the Ignazio and Maria (Corrao) Barone.
She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Collins. Josephine is survived by her son, Louis and wife, Karen Collins.
Daughter, Lorraine Giambrone.
One brother, Samuel Barone.
Six grandchildren Lisa, David, Louis, and Michael. Six great grandchildren, Nicole, Alexis, Ashley, Milania and Giada.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Joseph, Frank, Charlie and Anthony.
Sisters Ann Gulotta, Mary Carpani, and Annamarie Barone.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Friday, January 5 at 11:00 AM in Visitation BVM church Trooper, Pa.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.
Entombment will be in St. Patrick's Mausoleum.
Family request in Lieu flowers memorial contributions can be
made to the American heart association.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
