Kandy Arata of Doylestown and Audubon, PA passed away peacefully on the morning of July 3, 2025 after a 24 year battle with Parkinson’s disease, surrounded by her family and friends as she was ushered into Glory.
Kandy was born on May 5, 1945 in Houston, PA, to Thomas and Rachael Warne. Houston, PA was her beloved home where she learned to love the Lord and her family. She graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 1963, where she created lifelong friendships, and cherished her time as a cheerleader. Kandy met her surviving husband, Victor Peter Arata, in 1969 while attending Bucks County Community College, in Newtown, PA, and later married in 1970. She worked as a secretary at U.S. Steel, and then a homemaker and mother to 4 beloved children. Some of the greatest joys of her life were mothering and raising her children, and keeping her home on Fieldstone Drive in Doylestown, PA.
Kandy was esteemed for her unique flair for color, artistic ability, accessorizing, gardening, water color painting, and home cooked meals. She exhibited her creativity and shared these gifts with those around her. Her hospitality and warmth were unmatched, and those who knew her loved her to the very end. She has some of the most loyal and generous friends and family one could ever ask for on this earth, due in part to her care and love for them. She taught her children everything she knew, and at the core of it all, the gospel truth.
Kandy is survived by her four children: Kristin (Marty), Elizabeth (Todd), Matthew (Laura) and Kimberly (David); and 9 grandchildren: Michele (Kristin), Nathan, Carrie, Katie (Elizabeth), Matthew, Victor Paul (Matthew), Adaire, Liam and Solomon (Kimberly). She is also survived by 3 siblings (Betty Holmes, Agnes Schweinebraten and David Warne) and preceded in death by 4 siblings (Thomas Warne, Louise Fischer, Bill Warne, and James Warne).
Visitation will take place on Tuesday July 8th from 5-7 PM at Volpe Funeral Home, 707 W Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA. A memorial service to celebrate Kandy’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10 AM at Iron Works Church Phoenixville, 400 Franklin Ave STE 245, Phoenixville, PA. Internment will be private.
A luncheon will take place on 7/9/25 from 12-3pm at Chadwick’s Restaurant and Bar, 2750 Egypt Rd, Audubon, PA 19403.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests any donations be made to Kandy’s Legacy
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14
