Kenneth Silverwood Obituary

Kenneth Matthew Silverwood Sr, 63, of Norristown, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026.

Born in Norristown on August 27, 1962, he grew up alongside his brothers and sister playing in the creek behind their house. He enjoyed wrestling in high school.

Kenny was a man who faced any challenge with optimism, always hopeful for better days ahead.  He enjoyed being in nature and taking long walks. He loved motorcycles, cars, camping, and anything outdoors. His favorite car was his '69 Corvette.

For many years, Kenny owned and operated Valley Forge Basement Waterproofing, a profession in which he took great pride.

Kenny was known for his cheerful spirit and ability to talk with just about anyone about anything. He had a kind heart, a good sense of humor, and could make people feel comfortable shortly after meeting them. Even during difficult times in his life, he continued to show kindness to others and kept a positive outlook on life.

Above all, Kenny loved his son and was always proud of him. Those who know him know his favorite thing to talk about was his son and all of his accomplishments.

Kenny is survived by his beloved son, Kenny (Jacqueline) Silverwood Jr., and his brothers, Fred Silverwood Jr., and Curtis (Amy) Silverwood. He was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Silverwood, and his parents, Fred and Rose Silverwood (nee: Kovach).

Kenny will be remembered for his resilience, his love for adventure, his kind spirit, and the hope he carried for brighter days still to come.

A private funeral service for close family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Please reach out to the family for more details.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Kenny's sister, Debbie Silverwood.
