Lieutenant Colonel Theodore Menard Jr. Obituary

Lieutenant Colonel Theodore (Ted) Arthur Menard, Jr., Retired, a long-time resident of East Norriton, passed away on Monday, December 16th, at the age of 82.

Born in 1942 in Escanaba, Michigan, Ted was raised in both Escanaba and De Pere, Wisconsin, a suburb of Green Bay. He earned his Bachelor of Science in History from St. Norbert College (Class of 1964), where he joined the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program.

While enlisted in the Army, he furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Education degree via correspondence from the University of Southern California.

Ted dedicated 22 years to gallantly and proudly serving the United States Army. He completed a tour of duty in Vietnam and served at bases across the globe, including Fort Bliss, Texas; Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Camp Humphreys, South Korea; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Camp Zama, Japan; and Fort Hood, Texas. He retired with the distinguished rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

After retiring from the military, Ted settled with his family in southeastern Pennsylvania. He went on to work as a Senior Systems Engineer for General Electric, CSC, The Sl Organization/ Vencore, and Lockheed Martin, dedicating 25 years to his second career.

An avid fan of the Green Bay Packers (Go Pack, Go!), Ted was a long-time season ticket holder at the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. He loved watching all sports, particularly Villanova basketball, Phillies baseball, Flyers hockey, and, of course, his beloved Packers. In addition to sports, Ted enjoyed reading— especially spy novels— and cherished time spent with his family.

Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Doris. He is survived by his daughter Lisa (John); his sons, James and Mark; and his three grandchildren, Cameron, Brynn, and John.

Brother Rick (Rae) Menard and sisters, Kathy (Stephen), Rothe,

Mary Long and Christine Attaway.
