Lucia McLaughlin

Lucia (Orsena) McLaughlin, 70, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed away in her home January 12, 2022 surrounded by her devoted family.

Surviving are her husband, Patrick McLaughlin and Son Michael(Jacquelyn) McLaughlin; Grandchildren Elle and Maverick McLaughlin, Sisters Joanne Orsena(Alexandria, Va), Mary(Jay) Eiman (Altoona, PA), Nephews Aaron and Matthew. Aunts Carmie Magniglia and Rose Nasralla, and many beloved Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.

Lucia was born in Altoona, PA, the daughter of the late, Nicholas and Augusta Orsena. She graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School and pursued her education at the Pennsylvania State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. After student teaching in Philadelphia, Lucia sought a Master Degree in Education at Temple University.  Lucia devoted 34 years to a career as an Educator, specializing in Reading

Lucia had a deep passion for life, teaching, family, travel, reading, cooking, and friends.  She loved being a Grandmother.  Elle and Maverick brought her so much joy and she showed them off at any chance she had.  She loved wintering in St. Augustine, FL and was especially fond of the Disney Resorts.  She was an active member of the Visatation Catholic Church.  She volunteered as a teacher in the Religious Education Program.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022 in Saint Isaac Jogues Church 50 W. Walker Rd., Wayne PA.

Family will receive relatives and friends at the church Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 AM.

Burial will be in Saint Patricks cemetery.
