Luigi Pellegrini, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home with his family on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 92.
A long-time resident of Lansdale, Mr. Pellegrini was a retired hairstylist who spent many years at Continental Hair Styling for Men in Northeast Philadelphia. Known for his craftsmanship and warm personality, Luigi took great pride in his work and once had the distinct honor of cutting actor Tony Danza’s hair during a film shoot in Philadelphia.
Born on January 30, 1933, in Biccari, Foggia, Italy, Luigi was the son of the late Donato and Paola Pellegrini. He carried his Italian heritage close to his heart, especially through his passions for gardening, tending to his beautiful flower beds, and making wine—activities that brought him great joy and peace.
A faithful member of Corpus Christi Church in Lansdale, Luigi also loved sports. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and his beloved Juventus soccer team. He enjoyed listening to Italian music and operas.
Luigi is survived by his devoted wife, Maria Arcangela (nee Galdi) with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; his son, Danny Pellegrini; and his daughter, Paula D’Orazio (Franco). He was a cherished grandfather to Amanda Lucia D’Orazio and Nicholas Umberto D’Orazio (Nicole). He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Michael Galdi (Antonietta) and Giuseppe Galdi (Filomena); his sister-in-law, Rosa DiSalvo (Enrico); 15 nieces and nephews; and 18 great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Maria Marino (Martino, deceased) and Antonietta Carbosiero (Severino, deceased).
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Please note, there will be no funeral procession from the church. Those wishing to attend the burial should meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 12:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Luigi’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society or Fox Chase Cancer Center.
