Many T Rochkind

Many T. Rochkind, better known as “La,” passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on the morning of February 16, 2025, at the age of 66. Her life, marked by resilience and an unwavering love for her children, will be remembered by all who knew her.

La was born in Kampot, Cambodia to Se Top and Siem Chea. She bravely escaped the Khmer Rouge regime in 1982 to start a new life in the United States, carrying with her the weight of trauma and loss that would forever shape her. Her surviving siblings and father followed her path in the coming years, and in the face of adversity, they fought to rebuild their lives together and became part of the Khmer-American community. 

As a mother, La was nurturing and loved her children deeply. She poured her heart into raising them, and they were her pride and joy. During her later years, what La enjoyed most was being able to share home cooked meals with her family. Being able to meet her grandson, Cameron, also brought her much joy. She always looked forward to receiving pictures of him and checking in on her new grandson.

La is survived by her daughter Michelle, her son and daughter-in-law Alan and Michele, her grandson Cameron, and her loving siblings, Thiren Lam (Hien Lam), Sivoutha Keo (Samnang Keo), Phana Top (Somala Top), and Thirinh Jones, as well as many caring nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, February 22 at the Volpe Funeral Home 707 W Germantown Pike, Norristown PA 19403 from 11 a.m to 11:45 a.m. Prayer service will begin promptly at 12 p.m.
