In Memoriam
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret “Peggy” Gala beloved mother, grandmother (Grandma Peg), and friend, who peacefully passed away on March 3rd, 2025 from Parkinsons complications at the age of 84.
Peggy was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed a career in Architecture, and had an incredible gift for drawing, creating beautiful paintings and jewelry effortlessly. She was an avid gardener, cultivating vegetable gardens and vibrant flowers.
A wonderful cook, she had an insatiable curiosity for finding new recipes and tinkering with them until she perfected another family favorite. At Christmas each year she always presented friends and family with an ever-divergent arrangement of holiday cookies.
She also found great joy in singing, and her voice filled the air in choir, where she created harmony not only in music but in the lives of those who were lucky enough to know her.
Born in Washington DC, on September 25th 1940, she resided most of her life in the Chestnut Hill area. Peggy is survived her son and daughter-in-law Jesse and Sharon Gala, grandchildren Jack and Jade Gala, and siblings T. Stevens Bliss, Charles Bliss and Pamela Wharrier. She was preceded in death by her parents W. Roderic Bliss and Juliet Bliss.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 5th, 2025 at 1:00 pm, at Volpe funeral home, 707 W Germantown Pike, (at Whitehall Rd.), Norristown, PA 19403.The Gala family will receive relatives from 12 to 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.

Peggy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
