Margaret A. Murphy
Margaret “Peg” Murphy, (nee Morris), passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, August 24. She was 82.
Ms. Murphy of Norristown owned and operated the former Peg’s Place Restaurant in Norristown. Peg also coached many softball teams and attended as many of her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s games. She kept the scorebook for many of these teams and managed some.
Peg was born in Norristown on September 11, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Fry) Morris who lived on and managed the Jeffersonville Golf Club for many years.
She was the ex-wife of the late William J. Murphy and is survived by former husband Raymond Cipollini.
She is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter. David (Trish deceased), Kathleen Spitko (Robert), Dennis (fiancée Carol Watson-Jowett), and Daniel (Betty).
She is survived by 12 grandchildren: Dana, Robby, Tina, Brenda, Marissa, Den, Billy, David, Dan, Jon, Scott and Megan and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by her son William J. Murphy (Amy) and her 3 brothers, Wesley, Clarence and Kenneth Morris.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, September 1, from 10– 11 am at the Olivet Schwenkfelder Church, 619 W. Township Line Rd, East Norriton.
Church service will follow at 11:00 am.
Burial will be in Valley Forge Garden of Memories, King of Prussia.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in Peg’s name to your local SPCA as we all know how much she loved her cats and all living things.
