Mary Teresa (Capodici) D’Aquilante passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 14, 1932 in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mary was a secretary at John Wannamakers in center city Philadelphia in the early 1950’s. She then met her husband of 65 years, Gennaro D’Aquilante, in 1955 and they were married on April 28, 1956.
Mary was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a devoted Catholic. She dedicated herself to her faith and spent most of her time praying to the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family and baking for all the holidays and special occasions. She displayed unconditional love for her family and always had the right words to say. She enjoyed vacationing down south with her husband, as well as spending time at the Jersey shore with her family.
Mary is the daughter of the late Dominic and Lidua Capodici and the devoted, loving wife of the late Gennaro D’Aquilante. She is survived by by daughters Debra (David) D’Aquilante Brent, Dina (Frank) Manjardi, Denise D’Aquilante Bergen, and son Enrico (Karen) D’Aquilante, brother Salvatore (Mary) Capodici and sister Rose (Capodici) Burns, eleven grandchildren Michael, Frankie, Gino, Jenna, Tara, Alyssa, Michael David, Nicole, Gianna, Tamara and Enrico, and two great-grandchildren Aleigha and Francis IV. She is pre-deceased by her brothers Frank and Caesar Capodici.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, April 20 from 9 to 10:45 AM, with funeral mass to follow at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Entombment at St. Patrick’s Mausoleum.
