Patricia A Colby

Patricia Annette Colby, 66, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026.  She was born on March 27, 1959, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Lowell and Edith (Fuller) Stegall.  After Patricia graduated from Van Buren County High School in Keosauqua, Iowa.  She attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  Later in life she finished her college education and received a Bachelor of Science in Business.  While attending college at Drake University she worked a summer at Louden Crane Division of ACCO Industries in Fairfield, IA.  During, a company picnic she met the love of her life, Gary Micheal Colby.  They were married on August 18, 1979, in Fairfield, Iowa.  Initially, they lived in Fairfield, until Gary was transferred to Pennsylvania.  

After they moved to King of Prussia, PA, Patricia worked at a sewingcenter, until she started at Vanguard Investment Group.  Where she worked her way up from the bottom to become Vice President of Annuities.  She retired from there in 2006.  After retirement she worked for Clean It Supply.  Currently, she was the service manager for McDal Corporation. 

Patricia grew up in a rural community where 4-H became a huge part of her life.  Where she found her love for sewing, showing sheep, fashion review, and public speaking.  This helped shape Patricia into the leader she was.  She became a 4-H leader for the 4-H Creamery Crafters Sewing Club, where she has taught several children over the years to sew.  She also was a part of other 4-H activities like public speaking, fashion revue competitions, etc.  She joined the Farm, Home, & Youth Complex board in 2009.  And had been the president of the board since 2019.  Patricia contributed to the success of various events over the years including the annual Fabric Sale, Farm, Home, & Youth Fair, Lock & Load Sporting Clays Tournament, and the Buckle Series Horse shows.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Gary; her mother, Edith Stegall of Moberly, MO; 3 siblings:   Elaine Stegall of Kansas City, MO, Duane Stegall of Columba, MO, and Marla [Bronc] Hotsenpiller of Moberly, MO; 2 brothers-in-law; Greg Colby of Minneapolis, MN and Steven [Jacqueline] Colby of Minneapolis, MN, and several nieces and nephews.  She was proceeded in death by her father, Lowell Stegall, a sister, Robin Colleen Apel, her mother-in-law, Evelyn B (Barnhart) Colby Keir, her sister-in-law, Diana C. Wampole.

Memorials can be made to Farm, Home, & Youth Foundation, 1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville, PA 19426.

The Memorial service will be at Farm, Home, & Youth Complex, Home of Montgomery County 4-H, 1015 Bridge Road, Collegeville, PA 19426 on March 14, 2026.
