Rafael Moreno Avila

Rafael Moreno Avila passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at his home in Norristown, Surrounded by his family. He was 91. 

Mr. Avila of Norristown was a member of St. Patrick Church Norristown.

Rafael was born in Chavinda, Michoacán, Mexico on April 16, 1934 and is the son of the late Felix Moreno Rosas and Aurelia Avila Garcia. He is the beloved husband of Evangelina Gonzalez Gil. Rafael is also survived by his four sons Rafael, Juan Javier, Roberto and Julio Cesar. 

Five daughters Sylvia, Beatriz, Ma Socorro, Ma Guadalupe, Hermila. 

Brother Roberto and sisters, Maria Elena, Hermila and Carmela. 

18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday evening from 6 to 9 PM at the Volpe funeral home 707 W. Germantown Pike at Whitehall Rd., East Norriton. Family will also receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:15 AM followed by a Funeral mass at 10:30 AM in Saint Patrick's, Church DeKalb St., Norristown.

Burial will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Volpe funeral home.
