Richard Burkert, a cherished family man, passed away on January 8, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital at the age of 90. Born in Norristown on October 9, 1933, to the late Carl and Virginia (Anderson). Richard lived a full and vibrant life characterized by his loving nature, generosity, and kindness.

Fondly known as Mr. B by his friends and pop-pop by family, He served his country proudly during the Korean war in the United States Army. He dedicated many years of his life to Keybus Systems, where he served with distinction as a warehouse manager. His commitment to his work and the strong relationships he built with his colleagues were a testament to his work ethic and amiable personality. 

A family man at heart, Richard's legacy is carried on by his devoted daughter, Barbara Bayer (Mike), and his two sons, Mike and Tom. He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. Though his wife Joyce (Biddy), son Richard Jr, and daughter Sue Grimaldi-Stanley, Greatgrandson Nathan, brothers Carl Jr, Joe, and Bobby predeceased him, the stories and memories they shared continue to be cherished and celebrated by all who knew the Burkert family.

Richard's interests painted a picture of a man who embraced life with enthusiasm. An avid sports fan, he could often be found cheering on the Flyers, demonstrating his unwavering support for his favorite hockey team. His love for billiards was more than a pastime; it was a passion that showcased his competitive spirit and skill. He was also known for summertime picnics with family and friends.
